What do I mean? Do you constantly find yourself discussing the affairs/business of others? Yes or No? ... At work, do you find it a struggle to stay out of the office gossip? Yes or No? Are you drawn to drama? Yes or No?
[GOSSIP] is defined as: “Casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.”

Notice the harm caused by gossip. Next time you open your mouth, consider what you are saying and apply Ephesians 4:29 to it. Is what you are about to say (spiritually) beneficial to the one who will hear it? Or is it unwholesome, worthless, and/or evil? Will your words cause life or death?

Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who breathes forth lies shall perish.

He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from troubles.

Moreover, as they go about from house to house, they learn to be idlers, and not only idlers, but gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not say and talking of things they should not mention.
