Unusual Love!

From my heart to yours. { Single Men & Women }

I am moved to write and share with you all. God is showing me that this love He's blessed me/us with is bigger than Rob and I. You see, I always prayed that my relationship and eventually my marriage would be a reflection of Christ... a ministry. I have been blessed over the past months, as friends (male & female) have reached out and shared that our relationship has blessed them in some way. *tears* People, hear me when I tell you - God answers prayers.

As many of you who follow my page know, over the past few months I have been sharing of the LOVE that is in my life. Particularly, I am referring to the wonderful, loving, patient, (and handsome!) man of God that has come into my life and loved me in such a way that my heart never knew possible.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I knew GOD'S LOVE for myself and I trusted Him to bless me with His very BEST for me... but I had NO idea just how awesome HIS BEST would be. Funny, because I know how AWESOME my God is, you'd think I would have had an idea of how awesome the man He'd let hold my heart would also be. Ha! My human mind had no clue. WE live in a world in which "love" is becoming a rarity. Real love. Godly love. We just don't SEE it and I believe this has impacted us (more than we know).

Because we rarely SEE what His love looks like, we have unconsciously lowered our standards and expectations for love.
However, we were not made for this sub-standard "love" that is becoming the norm for most, which is why so many are unhappy, unsatisfied, or feel as though they have settled. Deep in our spirit, we know that God has MORE for us than this pseudo-love society is jamming down our throats.

We know God's love heals, transforms, changes, grows, and multiplies... thus our spirit is looking to be loved like this! Our minds may have forgotten that God IS LOVE, but our spirit KNOWS and thus this is the LOVE we should experience here on earth in the men and women we choose to share our hearts with.

While my mind had no idea, I am SO thankful that I am led by my spirit. Thank you, Jesus. I am thankful that I know God's amazing love for myself. I'm so thankful I know His peace, His patience, His mercy, His loving-kindness... because had I not, I may not have been able to RECOGNIZE God's love in this man.

So when I say I had no idea what LOVE could truly be, I mean it in the sense that I never realized that the AMAZING LOVE I have for God (and Him for me) could be SHARED with another human being, to this extent. To experience God's love through a man's expression of His love for me? I'd never experienced such a thing. Ladies.... Gentleman... wait on God. Wait until you FEEL IT IN YOUR SPIRIT... wait for a LOVE that reflects Christ's love for you. And while you wait - serve God. Get wrapped up in Him. Be about your Father's business.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT IN THIS RELATIONSHIP?
1. We PRAY for one another consistently and we pray together. There is nothing more intimate and transparent then going before our Heavenly Father in prayer. There is nothing more loving that a man could do, than to pray for the ones he loves.
2. We FAST. We set aside time each week to fast, not only from food, but also from one another and to FEAST on God. Meaning we make sure Christ remains our focus. It's so easy to get caught up in each other and it is important we don't lose sight of Him. We desire to keep our eyes stayed on Him, trusting that He would keep us in perfect peace. Amen. We spend that time praying, reading, studying, and basking in God's presence. We create a prayer list together so that we are praying on one accord. God has TRULY blessed us as we have drawn nigh unto Him this way as a couple. We are always so excited to share with one another, what God has said or done while we have been fasting.
3. We BOTH have our minds and hearts made up to honor God with our bodies. We are truly on one accord. I know that he cares about my soul. I trust that he will lead our family in righteousness and integrity because he is already doing so. How can two walk together unless they be agreed? Amen.
4. TWO hearts desiring to be the best man & woman of God they can be = peace. This doesn't mean there aren't conflicts. It means that the way they are handled is IN LOVE. Patience, forgiveness, SCRIPTURE, compassion, humility (no room for pride), putting the other before self... these are regular occurrences.

I could go on and on... God's love vs. what the world calls love are like DAY & night. Wait on God's love. Build your relationship with Him. Get to KNOW Him intimately so that you can recognize Him in others. I love you all to LIFE!
